Movie photos….encapsulates this veteran movie shooter’s career with a wide selection of images he has made in the film industry.… Bailey tells his own story about how he got into the business of both photography and movie stills photography, but also explains the detail about how movie stills images are made.

It’s a straightforward but nonetheless fascinating tale, with lots of information for those who might be interested about how to get into this industry, but also on how to actually create these images….The pictures are (as you’d expect) excellent, with a good mix of both actors on set, and behind-the scenes action.

The book offers a good yarn, with lots of really practical technical advice, and if you’re into movies there are certainly lots of shot of stars! Photography books don’t always make good reads, but in this instance all the bases have been covered well.

Alex's ability to tell his story and the fascination of life on a film set make Movie Photos what he wanted it to be – “educational, inspirational, interesting and relevant”. Even if you don't know your aperture from your elbow, it's still worth buying.

I never new movie sets could look so interesting! It’s a brilliant collection of photos and a great idea. The book arrived the day my son finished his photography A level exams so it was a timely example for him of what can be achieved with a good eye and a strong determination.
